Romanian weddings are loud, long, and full of ancient rituals. They last three days. There is dancing, drinking, and the famous "bride stealing" game.
1. Stealing the Bride (Furtul Miresei)

- Parents greet newlyweds at reception with bread and salt
- Bread represents prosperity (never go hungry)

3. The Dancing of the Bride (Jocul Miresei)
- Bride dances with each male guest
- Guests pin money on her dress or veil
- Money is for couple's new home or honeymoon
- Sometimes the groom also dances for money
- Can last 1-2 hours
4. The Godparents (Nănașii)
- Godparents are very important (choose married couple as model)
- They sponsor the wedding (pay for church, crowns, candles)

- Day 3: After-party (leftover food, more dancing, games)
- Some villages still practice full 3 days
- Cities now have 1 day (but long: 12+ hours)
6. Stepping Over a Broom (Săritul peste mătură)
- Ancient Dacian ritual (pre-Christian)
- After ceremony, couple jumps over a broom together
